TIKULI ART

Tikuli is a 600-year-old glass-enamel painting tradition from Patna, Bihar, and it is routinely mistaken for Madhubani. The artisans of Nasriganj and Digha work largely in anonymity while the craft's identity erodes each time it gets labelled wrong. This project began there: with field documentation, artisan interviews, and a clear-eyed look at what Tikuli actually is before deciding what it needed. Aaina is the documentation. Bindhu is the response.Bindhu is a brand, a memory card game, a packaging system, and a digital art generator built for exhibitions, all grounded in the craft's own visual language. The logo draws from the bindi at the centre of Tikuli: a bold red circle, black line, white space. The card game uses six original Tikuli paintings by artisan Pooja Kumari. The generator lets exhibition visitors roll for a character, border, and background to create their own Tikuli-style artwork. Four deliverables, one purpose: put the craft in people's hands.
